Intimate the Insurer
In the event of any damage to the vehicle due to an accident, as a policyholder you have to inform your respective insurance company with the policy number, and submit the duly filled claim form and also inform the police, (depending on loss type) to enable them to appoint a surveyor.
Documents Checklist for claims pertaining to
Private Car & Two-Wheeler:
Below is the list of documents you may need to submit to make a claim. You may need only a few or all of them based on the claim.
- Original Claim form with NEFT mandate form (Only for non-cashless cases NEFT Mandate form has to be filled)
- Copy of Registration certificate (In case of a new vehicle which is less than 3 months old and registration certificate is not available, tax receipts and vehicle purchase invoice is to be collected)
- Copy of driving license of the person driving the vehicle at the time of accident
- Copy of Policy
- Certified Copy of one officially valid document & Pan Card/Form 60
- FIR or Police report (depending on loss type)
- Garage Estimate
- Repair invoice
- Cancelled cheque (In case of non-cashless settlement)

commercial vehicles:
Below listed documents would be required
- Original Claim form with NEFT mandate form (Only for non-cashless cases NEFT Mandate form has to be filled)
- Copy of Registration certificate (In case of a new vehicle which is less than 3 months old and registration certificate is not available, tax receipts and vehicle purchase invoice is to be collected)
- Copy of driving license of the person driving the vehicle at the time of accident
- Copy of Policy
- Certified Copy of one officially valid document & Pan Card/Form 60
- FIR or Police report (depending on loss type)
- Garage Estimate
- Repair invoice
- Cancelled cheque (In case of non-cashless settlement)
- Copy of Fitness Certificate
- Copy of Route Permit & Load Challan (Not applicable for a Small Commercial Vehicles)
- Original documents are to be produced for verification.
Note: Don’t attempt to move the vehicle from the accident spot without the permission from the police or the insurance company (commercial vehicle)
Damage Assessment
The insurance company will send a surveyor to assess the damages. The surveyor will prepare a report and pass it on to the insurer and you will also receive a copy
Send your Car for Repairs
In order to avail the cashless claim service, you need to get your car repaired only at the network garages of your insurer. One advantage of cashless claim is you do not have to pay for the repairs upfront to the garage for the covered damages, the insurance company will pay only for the repairs that are covered in your policy directly to the garage.
Documents in case of Total loss and Net of
Salvage claims:
Below listed documents would be required
- Original Claim form with NEFT mandate form.
- Copy of Registration certificate (In case of a new vehicle which is less than 3 months old and registration certificate is not available, tax receipts and vehicle purchase invoice is to be collected).
- Copy of driving license of the person driving the vehicle at the time of accident.
- Copy of Policy.
- Certified Copy of one officially valid document & Pan Card/Form 60.(ID Proof)
- FIR or Police report ((Wherever required & depending on loss type).
- Garage Estimate.
- Repair invoice
- Cancelled cheque (In case of non-cashless settlement).
- Copy of Fitness Certificate.
- Copy of Route Permit & Load Challan (Not applicable for a Small Commercial Vehicles).
- Original documents are to be produced for verification.
- Original RC is collected.
- Original Policy Schedule is collected.
- 2 Keys of the vehicle are collected.
- Form 28, 29 & 30 in triplicate, duly signed by the insured.
- Indemnity bond.
- Copy of Pan Card.
- NEFT form and cancelled cheque.
- NOC and form 16 if hypothecation is present.
